The two opened up about the shows they rewatch on repeat, and the answers say a lot about why comfort TV has become a habit most people can’t shake.

Many people have a favorite TV show they turn to after a long, tiring day. It’s the show they’ve seen so many times that they could almost repeat the lines from memory. This love for “comfort TV” is something that people of all ages and backgrounds share, no matter where they are in the world. Even surprisingly famous people have their favorites! Recently, David Beckham and Steve Carell got together for a fun conversation about their go-to comfort shows on Goat TV.

The two stars also recently participated in a fun advertising series by Lay’s called “No Lay’s, No Game,” where they surprised shoppers outside a supermarket. People carrying Lay’s snacks in their bags have a chance to get exclusive invitations to a special World Cup watch party. The ads show genuine fan reactions as celebrities interact with them and offer invites.

Steve Carell and David Beckham’s favorite comfort shows

In a recent episode of the Goat TV Show, both were asked what their comfort shows are. Carell mentioned that his favorite is “Breaking Bad.” He and his wife watched the series about a year ago and couldn’t stop binge-watching it from start to finish. Carell called it one of the best shows he has ever seen, praising how strong the storytelling was throughout all five seasons. The characters changed and developed in meaningful ways, and the plot built up to an impactful ending.

Breaking Bad” tells the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who starts making drugs after being diagnosed with cancer. Carell also mentioned The Americans, a show that ran on FX from 2013 to 2018. It follows two Soviet KGB officers living undercover as a married couple in Washington, D.C., during the Cold War.

On the other hand, David Beckham answered, “The Office”, but the US version. He jokingly explained that his choice had nothing to do with Carell sitting next to him, to which Carell humorously claimed he had never heard of the show, despite playing the main character. Beckham shared that he often watches “The Office” with his son most nights, revisiting episodes they’ve already seen many times, and they still find it hilarious.

“The Office,” based on a show created by Ricky Gervais, ran for nine seasons and depicted the everyday operations of a paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Carell starred as Michael Scott, the well-meaning but often clueless boss. The show beautifully captures the emotional connections of people stuck in jobs they didn’t necessarily choose, yet finding reasons to stay and make the best of it.
